Playing Catch-Up
Recent adventures in the Bowman Bunch have been slim. Sean is as busy as ever with work. He has such a great work ethic and is such a blessing in my life. He works so hard and is always smiling and willing to help around in any way. I couldn't have asked for a better husband, man, and best friend. I am one lucky woman!!
I've been working and going to school. It's amazing how much life changes when your pregnant :)
We volunteered to help in the Developmental Center in Pleasant Grove and enjoyed it thoroughly! I was actually slightly apprehensive because I'd never done it before but it was one of the neatest experiences I've been able to do with Sean. On Sunday we helped with their church services and then on Wednesday we were able to dance with them! Both Sean and I have had quite a week and have been pretty stressed. We weren't going to go on Wednesday because we had so much to do, but when we received a text from someone in our ward saying they could really use our help, we rushed over to help. I am SO glad we did. After our little dance party with patients at the center, both Sean and I felt so good! We were happy and relaxed. Such a great experience!
On Saturday Sean was able to take half a day off from work (he really needed some time to breath!) so we decided we'd go do initiatories at the Temple. Yet again, another one of the Lord's blessings He's given us. Sean and I both felt so great going to the Temple since we hadn't been for so long.
I had a Dr. appt at 24 weeks. I got to have another ultrasound from my 20 week appt because little baby girl wouldn't get into a good position so we could check her heart. The scheduled us for another ultrasound so we could check her little beating heart. I love ultrasounds! To be able to see my baby move around and wiggle and kick is so rewarding. It just makes it that much more real for me! She was such a wiggle worm this time and we finally got to see the 4 chambers of her heart! She's healthy and busy busy busy! We also got a picture of her in 3D! They usually don't do 3D ultrasounds till week 26-30 but the ultrasound lady said baby girl was in such a good position she couldn't resist, but of course as soon as we started with the 3D doppler, baby girl kept moving. She's such a stubborn little thing :) I love it! Finally, we got a cute little face picture of her! She has cute little chubby cheeks and her hand is always up by her face.
After, I met with the midwife and she said baby girl looked great and very healthy and that my amniotic fluid looked great. (last time it was a little low). They measured my uterus and apparently this baby girl is growing right along!I should measure at 24 weeks but I'm measuring at 26 weeks! (I have to say I felt a little better about that considering how much weight I'd gained in the past 5 weeks) I asked if my date would change since she's measuring 2 weeks bigger, but the midwife said that it's very common to measure bigger than expected between weeks 22-28. That's when babies usually hit their biggest growth spurts. I cannot wait to meet her and hold her! Gah! only 16 weeks to go!! Time flies!

Mother's Day
This year was my first Mother's Day! It was fantastic! Sean has been absolutely incredible and he surprised me with a beautiful bouquet and breakfast.... WAFFLES with chocolate chips!!! He also got me a nose warmer. It made us both laugh :) My nose is always cold and he's always so thoughtful and considerate. When I got the nose warmer I was so excited!!! It's purple and fits my nose perfectly!!! (for those of you who don't know what they are, you can check them out on etsy). We celebrated after church at Sean's parents house for dinner which the men made. It was great!!

Sean and I on our way to Church. (22 weeks pregnant)
Amazing Waffles!! Sean used Grandpa Bowman's famous Pancake recipe :)
Beautiful Bouquet

I also have to give a BIG shout out to my wonderful Mother and Mother-in-law. They are absolutely amazing women and I only hope I can be as amazing mother to my children and they have been to theirs. They are such strong women who have truly inspired me spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I can't even express how humbled I am to know that our baby girl will know these amazing women and I only hope she carries their traits. Thank you Mom Call and Mom Bowman for everything! You two are A-MAZING!!!!
Crib for the Baby girl thanks to Mom Bowman :D
The corner of Baby girl's room where I will be doing a lot of rocking :)
The curtain that came with Mom Call's Easter present, the Baby bedding!!!!
Here it is!!! All the bedding came in a bundle, bed skirt, pillows, diaper hanger, bumpers, sheet, and blanket, thanks Mom Call!! The crib (absolutely beautiful) is from Mom Bowman. Thank you thank you! We are so blessed!
Lastly, the bear Sean got me last year for fun. I think we named him Ace. He stands about 4 feet tall! He's so soft and cuddly and we couldn't resist putting it in Baby girl's room! Her room is a work in progress but it's definitely girly and I couldn't be more excited!!! I love sitting in her room and just staring at everything. Now we just need to get the little scrunchy face here!

Belly Pics
Here's me at week 8. Excuse the face. Pregnancy wasn't too kind during weeks 8 to 18 :)
Week 12 and growing!!!
Week 16. Feeling little bit better. Unfortunately this baby girl has affected my cheeks as well.
Week 20!!! Half way there!!! Woo hoo! Feeling huge lol! I've never weighed/looked/had this much on my stomach in my life! BUT, it's all worth it. I can't wait to be a Mom and hold this beautiful baby girl!!!! My waist has officially started at 29 1/2 inches to a whopping 35 inches in 20 weeks... Oh joy!

The Story
SO. Here goes nothing!!!
The Story of how this baby girl decided to surprise us with her tiny presence in my getting bigger by the day belly.
It all happened January 5th. I woke up tired (as usual). It had been a few days since The friendly monthly visit had decided to come. I decided to take a pregnancy test. I really didn't think there would be a positive sign since Sean and I had just moved into our house over Christmas break. We'd been pretty stressed all Christmas getting the papers for the house signed, packing up, poor Sean getting the flu, cleaning, and then moving everything into our new home.
I'd had a few "late" months before and figured this was just another one of them. But... I was pleasantly surprised! I woke up, took a test, jumped in the shower and then when I got out I looked at the test. It was a big fat POSITIVE. Sean was still asleep since he didn't have to get up for another hour, but I opened the door, the bathroom light shining right in his face and said "Uh babe, I'm pregnant" as I was holding the pregnancy test in my hand. He looked at me with his cute little sleepy face, squinted at me and said "huh?" and I got right next to him so he could see the positive sign on the pregnancy test and said "Yep! We're pregnant!" This is when I laughed. He looked at the test, squinted for a bit then said "Well, Congratulations!" And rolled back over and went to sleep.
After he finally woke up I think it was setting in for him. I was excited all day long and wanted to tell everyone but we decided we'd only tell our parents since I was only weeks pregnant just to make sure everything would be ok.
Mom Call was super excited and she said she'd wait to tell Dad for a while to make sure the pregnancy was alright. Sean told mom and papa Bowman and they were very excited for us.
A few days past and Sean and I were too excited that we decided to tell his siblings. They were all happy for us as well. We decided we'd wait to tell my siblings till after Chase and Jessica's wedding the following weekend. We didn't want to steal the show for their special day/ week/ weekend.
When we got to Arizona the following weekend, I was still feeling pretty good other than hungry and tired. Morning sickness hadn't set in yet. We decided to tell dad Call when everyone was gone on the wedding morning getting Chase situated. He was a little shocked and asked "what about your degree? Are you going to finish?" and of course I said I would. We told him I'd take fall semester off since the baby is due in September. He was then relieved and said congratulations. ( I still think I hadn't set in quite yet, just like it hadn't with Sean).
When the ceremony and reception was over and Chase and Jessica (they were such a stunning couple) left from the reception, we decided we'd tell my siblings. They were all very excited and happy for us.
When we got back from Arizona is when the fun began! I was about 6 weeks along and holy cow could I feel it! I had the worst heart burn ALL THE TIME. Anything sweet (which I love sweet things) made me gag. I couldn't handle any red sauce (like spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, etc). meat was so gross... AND the throwing up began. When they say morning sickness, they should really say ALL DAY SICKNESS. I was SO SICK! My poor husband Sean just looked so sad for me. I have to give a shout out to him though. I married the most amazing man ever! He has been so sweet, so tender, gentle, kind, patient, loving and caring. I can't believe how blessed I am to have married such an incredible man. He has definitely been my rock through all of this. He truly is amazing.
So as the nausea, heartburn, and tiredness set in, I was in for a ride! My throwing up got so bad that I actually started throwing up blood. I went to the hospital to get checked out and to make sure the baby was ok. Sean was with me the whole time. He was incredible. We found out since I was throwing up so much I actually broke some blood vessels in my esophagus. I was prescribed "zofran" for my nausea. MOST AMAZING DRUG! I started taking this and holy cow has the world changed! I was able to go back to work and function :)
At 10 weeks I was still very sick but was able to function. I lost 15lbs my first trimester but have definitely put it on now at 19 weeks.
There's the long story! I'm 19 weeks and going strong! Still nauseous but much much better. I'll post pics soon!
