Waving!

This is by far my most favorite video of Hannah yet! She's learned how to wave!(sort of) When I say "say hi!" she puts her arm up and says hi! I've been trying to teach her how to wave hi for a while now and this is what we've got! This video is about a month old and I'm behind on posting videos but better late than never right?? Anyway, her waving is so funny and we just love it :)

She Knows What She Wants

Hannah definitely knows what she wants. After her nightly bath we sit on the couch and reads a few books before bed. Lately she's been picking the books she wants us to read. I have to laugh... she's only 8 months old and so decisive already! We got it on video one night and just had to share. Enjoy!

Pictures of Hannah Banana

Hannah's version of a pacifier. She won't take a bottle or a pacifier. Instead she chews on them :)

Happy baby!

my chunky monkey :)

It's swimsuit season!

This is what daddy chose for Hannah to wear to church... she didn't wear it :)

8 Months!

Our little lady is 8 months old today! Time sure has flown let me tell ya! I can't believe she's already 8 months old. It seems like just yesterday she was this squishy little newborn who squeaked and squawked. Now she yells and squeals, giggles and smiles, tells us tall tales, and we just love her so much.

Hannah loves to laugh. She loves to swing. Hates eating baby food. Loves to be center of attention. Loves her daddy so so much. Weighs 22 pounds. Her smiles can melt your heart even when you're feeling blue. She's just amazing and we love her so much! She loves to be outside with daddy and loves to take everything in. When we go to the store or just anywhere but home, she has bright eyes and looks at everything. She's so smart too! She waves, claps, grunts to say Hi. I'm just so lucky to have her!!!
Sweet little lady!

Graduate!

We have a graduate!! Sean graduated from Elementary Education this past Friday! We are SO proud and SO happy for him! He's been interning as a 4th grade teacher this past year and has been working SO hard. He got offered a full time full paying job with amazing benefits this coming year and will be teaching 4th grade again! We are so blessed and he's SO excited to be working at this Elementary School he was offered a job at.

I am so proud of him and so blessed to have him in my life! He's worked so hard and it's finally paid off! His graduation was at 8 in the morning so I had to get up early to get ready and of course little Hannah had to get up early too. She just couldn't sleep with mommy and daddy up getting ready. We finally left the house at 7 to get there in time. By the time Sean received his diploma and graduation was over, Hannah was exhausted. She's not much of a cuddler but she was resting her head on my shoulder and humming to herself. She did SO well throughout the whole thing! As soon as we got her into her carseat she fell fast asleep. It was so darn cute!

I just love Sean's smile in these pictures and the sigh of relief he had when he finally got his diploma :) We're so proud of you daddy! We love you!

Lesson Learned...

For the past few days the little lady has had a slight stuffy/runny nose. One Sunday night it hit full force and Monday was even worse. Needless to say we were worried and took her in to see her pediatrician. She got checked out and was all clear, she just had a cold! On Tuesday she woke up with a fever and severe congestion. Since the little lady's been born she does not... repeat DOES NOT do well with oral medication. We've tried to give her Children's Tylenol, Motrin (now that she's older) and every time she's thrown it up. I don't know if it's a texture thing but it just doesn't work for her. She's also not a very good solid food eater. She's very interested in whatever Sean and I are eating and will open her mouth really wide for a bite, but when it comes to gerber food, oatmeal, rice cereal, or anything processed or pureed forget it. At first I was concerned about her eating habits but her pediatrician reassured me that there was nothing to worry about being that she's a whopping 22 pounds. He said that if she eats two bites of something awesome, one bite awesome, not bites... awesome. He also said that once she can eat real food (what Sean and I usually eat) she'll be a lot better. She knows how to swallow and eat because she's eaten an entire container of pears and apples before, so I just think she knows what she want and it's not baby food!

Anyway, back to the lesson learned.... So the little lady's fever was escalating and I'd tried to give her Tylenol with no success. It was about 10:30 in the morning and I had to go to the bathroom. I usually put Hannah in the middle of our bed and hurry and use the restroom and wash my hands with no problem but this day was a different story. I put her down, went into the bathroom, was washing my hands (a totally of maybe 45 seconds) when I hear this thud and then screaming. My heart sank. I ran over to my little baby on the floor crying hysterically. I picked her up, checked her, no blood no instant bruisng... then she threw up all over me. I was terrified. My first thought was "oh great I'm a horrible mother who's let my child get a concussion". I cleaned her up, cleaned myself up, (by now she was acting completely normal) and then I checked her pupils to make sure they were dilating. They were! Hurray! Of course I was worried all day. Since the incident she'd nursed, taken a nap and been just fine. Then in the late afternoon her temperature spiked, I tried to give her Tylenol (more throw up and no success) and she was very very unhappy. I stripped her clothes off to see if it'd change anything. Nothing.

By the time Sean got home she was napping again but woke up a half hour later. Then she nursed and fell asleep again but woke up screaming. I was so worried it had to do with her falling off the bed so I had Sean give her a blessing. A beautiful blessing. I'm so grateful he's worthy to do so. I don't know what I'd do without him! We finally decided to take her to the ER.

When we got there they checked her out and she was just fine. They said that a two foot fall is normally ok with babies when they fall unless they fall onto a sharp object etc. Plus Hannah had been acting quite normal. She still had a fever though so they gave her a Tylenol suppository(genius). I didn't even know they made them for babies! Soon enough her fever went down, she starting acting like her bubbly self and we went home. We gave her a bath, fed her, and she was fast asleep.

I felt like the worst mom ever leaving her on the bed and having her fall. Needless to say.... I've learned my lesson. I'm just so thankful she's ok. I've always said to myself " I'm never going to let my baby fall off the bed"... yeah cross that one off my list. I just can't say enough how grateful I am that she's ok, minus a cold.
